“CityShift 2025” will bring Europe’s visionaries to Vilnius: a new real estate era, CO₂-free cities, and “hacked” buildings
What to do when your buildings get “hacked”? How is artificial intelligence changing the real estate market? What proptech technologies are the largest European and Lithuanian real estate companies adopting? And what does Vilnius have in common with Copenhagen – the city aiming to become the world’s first CO₂-free capital?
The answers to these questions will be provided on November 11 by Europe’s proptech leaders, technology company executives and artificial intelligence professionals at the international “CityShift 2025” conference, taking place in Vilnius for the first time. Here, Lithuania’s proptech community will also present its ambition to become an innovation testing hub, enabling cities to test the latest technologies in real conditions and be at the epicenter of change.
Lithuania is rewriting real estate rules
In just a few years, the real estate technology community in Lithuania has grown from a few dozen innovators into a full ecosystem: robots determining a home’s value for banks, AI-based building management systems, more efficient design or construction management solutions, panel renovation and new construction systems being implemented in New York – all of this is no longer a vision but revenue-generating products created by Lithuanian startups.
“In just a few years, the real estate sector has changed beyond recognition – what recently seemed like an experiment has now become an everyday reality. Artificial intelligence, digital transformation and sustainability solutions are reshaping how we create, manage and finance real estate. Now it’s time to talk about what comes next – how artificial intelligence, sustainability and data-driven decisions will shape the future of cities. Here in Vilnius, on November 11, we will discuss what will shape the market over the next decade. If you work in the real estate sector, invest, or create technologies for cities – this event is a must-attend. It’s an opportunity to be where new partnerships, ideas and real projects are born,” says Viktorija Čijunskytė, founder of the crowdfunding company “Profitus”, board member of “PropTech Lithuania” and head of the LEP association.
Global-level visionaries on one stage
This year, the “CityShift” stage will be dominated by international names shaping the future of cities. Camilla Richter-Friis van Deurs, partner at the “Nordic Office of Architecture” arriving from Copenhagen, will talk about how the city became one of the most livable in the world and is already planning to become the first CO₂-free capital by 2030. One of Europe’s best-known proptech strategists, Antony Slumbers, will present the artificial intelligence revolution in the real estate sector – a new stage of human-machine collaboration, while Dirk Paelinck, head of the “European PropTech Association”, will discuss the European context – which innovations are truly transforming cities today and what is hindering their implementation.
Meanwhile, Gregory Pitlaz, former innovation director at “PATRIZIA”, will talk about how corporations can learn from startups by investing in innovation, and Michael Dugent, global head of IoT at “Nozomi Networks”, will provoke the audience with the question: “When all your buildings get hacked – what will you do?”
Leaders of Lithuanian companies will also share their experience and insights on how they are working with specific technologies.
This year’s “CityShift” will invite participants not only to talk but also to take action – the event will present the “CityShift HUB”, a proptech and urbantech testing platform. It will allow Lithuanian cities to test the latest technologies in real conditions and foster cooperation between municipalities, real estate developers, startups and the academic sector.
“In Lithuania, we have what many much larger innovation and financial centers often lack – speed and openness to new ideas. This is our opportunity to secure a place on the European PropTech map. The public sector remains open to collaboration, we are small, so we make decisions faster, and we can offer technology developers and investors the most important resource – the opportunity to test solutions in real conditions.
At this year’s conference, participants will have the chance to be the first to see the new platform, which will help not only Vilnius but also other Lithuanian cities adopt and test the latest technologies more quickly. I am certain that the ideas born here will soon turn into real changes in our environment,” says Domas Dargis, chairman of the board of “PropTech Lithuania”.
“Over the past few years, Lithuania has produced several unicorns – proof that global solutions are being created here. We still have a great deal of untapped potential within our cities. We want CityShift HUB to be the place where cities and the real estate industry share challenges, open data, and, together with technology companies, test the best solutions in real-life conditions. This is our chance to show that Lithuania can be not only an innovation creator but also Europe’s fastest testing ground. CityShift HUB is being created with the goal of making Lithuania home to more cities designed for comfortable living than anywhere else,” says Deividas Jacka, patron of “CityShift HUB” and chairman of the board of “Civinity”.
Right before the conference, an artificial intelligence workshop led by Antony Slumbers will take place. The practical seminar will be dedicated to real estate market professionals and will help them understand how AI is already changing everyday work.
“CityShift 2025” will take place on November 11 in Vilnius, “Cyber City”.
