1. What is crowdfunding?

It is a method of fundraising mediated by an online platform, where people with an idea can raise money for their project from individuals investors. The basic idea of crowdfunding is that money is invested from one person to another. Crowdfunding can take many forms: 
Reward-based - investing for a non-monetary reward (goods or services);
Donation-based - investing for no reward, for an emotion;
Equity-based - investing in exchange for an ownership stake (shares, real estate);
Lending-based - investing in a loan in order to recover the investment with the interest.

3. I can't confirm my identity?

The most common reasons why a person can't verify their identity are related to the quality of the photo. We recommend using a mobile phone to complete the process.
When carrying out the identification process, make sure that:
The quality of the photos is clear;
The document is clearly visible;
There are no other people around you in the background.

4. What investment opportunities are available on the Profitus platform?

On the Profitus platform, you can invest in business loans, real estate development loans or property rental loans with real estate mortgages starting from €100. You can find out more about your investment options by creating an account and logging in to the self-service.

5. Who can become an investor on Profitus platform?

Both individuals and legal entities can invest on the platform. There are no age restrictions on the platform either, but the user must have a bank account, which limits the investment opportunities for minors. Different banks have different rules for opening bank accounts to minors - please reach out to a bank that you want to use regarding more information on the matter.

6. What are the fees / taxes for investing on the platform?

There are no platform usage or account administration fees for the investor, but there is a transfer of claim fee if you want to sell your investment on the secondary market.

Profitus does not provide information and/or advice on tax matters and we recommend that you contact the State Tax Inspectorate (STI) directly for any questions relating to tax liability.

7. I forgot the password to my account, what can I do?

If you forget your password, you'll have to create a new one. You can do this using this link:

9. How do I create a Profitus account?

You can create an account by clicking on the "Register" button in the right-hand corner of the page and filling in a short registration form. You will also be asked to complete a knowledge and experience test to help identify your level of knowledge as an investor. Don't forget to identify yourself - only after completing the identification process will you be able to see detailed funding information for each newly announced project.

10. Is the platform regulated?

The Bank of Lithuania supervises all activities of the Profitus platform operator. Profitus as a platform operator is also included in the public list of crowdfunding platform operators and operates in accordance with the Law on Crowdfunding and the Law on Legal Protection of Personal Data of the Republic of Lithuania.

11. How can I top-up my wallet?

There are two ways to top-up your wallet, neither of which requires you to add a bank card to your account. You can either top up your account by wire transfer or by entering your account details on our payment partner's page, which will transfer your money directly to your Profitus account.

12. At what age can I become an investor with Profitus?

There are no age restrictions on the platform, however, you must have a bank account, therefore minors' investment options are limited. Transfers can only be made from the Profitus account holder's bank account, which means that parents cannot top up their child's wallet from their own account. Different banks have different rules for opening bank accounts to minors - please reach out to a bank that you want to use regarding more information on the matter.

13. How do I create an account for my child?

If the client is an individual under the age of 18, the legal representatives of such a person must submit the required documents remotely (signed by both representatives with e-signatures) or come to Profitus' head office at Lvivo g. 101, Vilnius.
