Profitus successfully distributed the bond issue of UAB “Gesons”: the amount of bonds placed exceeded expectations by 38%
The crowdfunding platform “Profitus” has successfully completed the first stage of distributing the bond issue of UAB “Gesons” (hereinafter – the Issuer). The Issuer planned to issue bonds worth EUR 5 million in two stages. During the first stage, which has now been completed, it was planned to distribute bonds worth up to EUR 2.5 million; however, investor interest exceeded expectations: during the offering, UAB “Gesons” bonds received investor subscriptions totaling nearly EUR 3.5 million, exceeding the initial offer by almost 40%. The speed of funding also surpassed expectations – the bonds were planned to be distributed within 30 days, but the offering was stopped after just one week by the issuer’s decision.
A total of 213 investors participated in the issue, with the average investment per investor exceeding EUR 15,000. Approximately 40% of the distributed bonds were financed by retail investors, while the largest investment by an institutional investor reached EUR 2 million. The annual yield ranges from 7% to 9.5%.
“Our retail investors have been interested in opportunities to invest in bonds for some time, so it was time to offer them such an opportunity on our platform. We offer bonds with a lower nominal value, starting from EUR 500, so that they are accessible to a wider range of retail investors and allow them to invest alongside institutional investors, who demonstrate long-term confidence,” says Aurimas Satkūnas, Head of Investor Relations and Board Member at “Profitus”.
The funds raised from the distributed bonds will be used to refinance existing liabilities and to finance the further development of the Issuer’s business. The Issuer provides group management and administration services – from strategic planning and financial management to investment supervision and risk control, as well as consulting services, and has invested in the rapidly growing global startup “Pulsetto”.
The bonds are secured by shares of AB “East West Agro” owned by the Issuer and entrepreneur Gediminas Kvietkauskas, which constitute a 50.01% stake.
“East West Agro”, a Lithuanian capital company, is one of the largest agricultural machinery distributors in Lithuania. Firmly established among the top three companies in the sector, “East West Agro” represents one of the world’s largest agricultural machinery manufacturers, “Massey Ferguson”, in the country. The company’s clients include more than 6,000 large and medium-sized agricultural companies and farms in Lithuania.
